The facelifted car, updated for 2021 with revised styling and infotainment, is what is mostly available here, and it is the version to want — Mercedes carried the turbo six and its electric boost hardware over unchanged, so you are not giving anything up mechanically by buying the newer look.
The Volkswagen Golf is far cheaper and shows less interior staining in our inspections — 26% against 36% expected for cars of this age and mileage in the Emirates — a sensible alternative if you do not need the power or the badge. The A250 is far cheaper still and stays inside the family if a hot hatch will do instead of a full saloon.
The cars we inspect are still at low mileage, consistent with a performance saloon bought recently and used sparingly rather than as a daily driver — not a car where distance covered is the concern yet.
