The Z9 is the flagship of Dongfeng's UAE range and the only four-wheel-drive model in it, with 241 hp from a 2.0-litre turbo. It is the car that tests whether buyers will pay six figures for the badge, which is a genuinely different question from the one the rest of the range asks.
How much does the Dongfeng Z9 cost in the UAE?
One 2026 specification, at AED 121,900, and it is the fully equipped version. There is no entry grade advertised at a lower headline figure and nothing to negotiate down to, so the conversation with the showroom is entirely about what is included and what the after-sales package looks like.
What does the four-wheel drive actually buy you?
Traction and stability rather than off-road ability, in the main. On a heavy vehicle with 241 hp it improves how the car puts its power down in the wet and on loose surfaces, and it adds confidence on unsealed access roads. It also adds weight, complexity and one more driveline to service, so it is worth having only if you will use it.
Dongfeng Z9 or Dongfeng 007 REEV?
The Z9 is the conventional choice — a turbocharged petrol engine, four-wheel drive and no charging to think about, which makes it the simpler car to own. The 007 REEV costs less, drives on electricity for most short journeys and is far cheaper to run if you can charge at home. The Huge covers similar ground for less money.
What does a Dongfeng Z9 cost to run in the UAE?
More than anything else in this range: a large four-wheel-drive vehicle with a 2.0-litre turbo is not a cheap thing to fuel, insure or shoe. At this price the after-sales terms matter more than usual, so get the warranty document, the service schedule and the first three service prices before you commit, and confirm which workshops are authorised.
Does the Z9 hold its price?
Slightly better than the class: about 53% after five years against roughly 52% for the Chinese brands sold here, and 68% at three. Four-wheel drive versions tend to hold on best, because the buyers who want one have few alternatives at this money. On a used example the drivetrain is where the attention belongs — how the system engages, the condition of the tyres across all four corners, and the servicing behind it.
Ask what the single specification includes, and read the warranty and service schedule together before you talk price. Read the used Dongfeng listings with the same two documents in hand.
