The Hongqi H9 is a large flagship sedan trading on presence and specification rather than a track record, and in the UAE it has barely built either yet. What it does have is a price that lands well inside mainstream mid-size sedan territory despite the size and equipment on offer.
What to inspect on a used Hongqi H9
Weigh the warranty and dealer coverage as heavily as the spec sheet — then compare against our live H9 stock.
Far less than the space and features suggest it should. Expect roughly AED 119,000 for an older example up to AED 119,000 for a newer one, with remaining warranty doing more to move that number than the odometer does at this stage.
Too soon to say with confidence. The cars we have inspected run a median of around 80,000 km and show nothing troubling yet, but that is a young fleet's mileage, not a settled verdict on the drivetrain.
The mainstream alternatives all carry more used-market history. The Toyota Camry and Mazda 6 both cost less and have a service network in every emirate, while the Dodge Charger offers a similar sense of scale for less outlay. The H9 wins on cabin space and standard equipment if you are prepared to be an early adopter.
The one with the most warranty left, not the newest plate. There is no earlier, weaker H9 generation on UAE roads to avoid — every car here is close enough in age that condition and cover matter more than the registration year.
Behind the segment, and that is the honest trade-off for the specification per dirham on offer — expect around 44% of the original price back after five years, against roughly 51% for large sedans generally here. Hongqi's own range averages 48%, so the H9 sits slightly below even its own badge.
