Asking prices run from AED 19,000 to AED 96,990 across our listings, but same-year sales are the honest guide. Among 2022 cars an HS went for AED 45,000 and an MG5 saloon AED 20,000. Among 2020 cars the HS was AED 32,000, an RX5 AED 28,000 and a ZS AED 22,000. Nothing here asks premium-brand money.
Reasonably, given how cheaply they sell new: MGs average about 52% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, and the cash at stake is smaller because the new prices are low.
A used Chery undercuts it again and matches it on equipment, and is the place to look if you want an electric option. MG's advantage is the number of independent workshops here that already know the cars.
On the evidence, yes, and by a clearer margin than the badge's price suggests. Just 4% of the 578 MGs we have inspected in the UAE show a mechanical fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, against the 7% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage here, and interior staining runs at 9% where we would expect 15% for comparable cars.
