Asking prices across our listings run from AED 10,000 to AED 155,000, and the only honest comparison is between cars of the same year. Among 2022 cars a CX-5 sold at AED 85,000 and the three-row CX-9 at AED 97,000. Drop to 2019 and a CX-5 went for AED 34,000, a Mazda6 AED 32,000 and a Mazda3 AED 21,000.

Solidly mid-pack: Mazdas average about 53% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, close enough to the mainstream Japanese brands that resale should not decide the purchase.

A used Honda is the easier resale; Hyundai gives you more equipment for the money. Mazda wins on the drive and the interior at the same price.

The CX-5 is the default. Take the Mazda3 if the budget is the constraint and you want the sharpest thing at the money, the CX-9 if you need a third row, and the Mazda6 if you want a full-size saloon.
