Frequently asked questions

A 2017 Range Rover Sport averaged AED 53,000 in our closed UAE sales and a 2020 AED 136,000. Age separates them; within a year, specification and service history do the rest. Live asking prices run from AED 13,000 for a car from the end of the 2010s to AED 450,000 for a current one.

Our findings are better than the class on both counts buyers worry about: Across more than 550 Range Rover Sports CarSwitch has inspected in the UAE, 53% show evidence of prior body or panel repair, against the 65% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage here, and interior staining is 27% on a 34% norm. What the report cannot do is the drive — air suspension needs checking through its full range and after an overnight stand, and every screen, seat motor and climate function pressing individually. For contrast on the mechanical side, the Audi Q7 at far less money turns up a fault on 35% of cars against a 24% norm.

  • Air suspension through its full range and after standing.
  • Electrics — screens, seats, climate — one at a time.
  • Full main-dealer history.
  • Cooling at idle in traffic.

Read the suspension and electrical sections of the CarSwitch report before you offer.

2018 to 2021 is the value window. The second-generation Sport ran from 2014 to 2022, with a 2018 update that brought the twin-screen cabin and better driver aids; the current car arrived for 2023 at a very different price. A well-optioned example with a full main-dealer file is the most Sport for the money.

The Toyota Land Cruiser asks similar money and is the easier ownership by a distance, with body repair on 35% of cars against a 45% norm. The BMW X5 costs less and is the closer rival on the road, at 44% on a 65% norm. The Sport's case is that it does presence and pace at once. Within the range, the Vogue SE is the full-size body.
